where did all the time go? I've been a bulb waiting for spring. Also, I sold my Canon 1DS ii only to realise I missed it and ended up buying a mark iii. There really isn't anything like the feel of a big heavy camera! Here's to new birth of creativity for 2019!

Seeing Iliya beating out some captivating rhythms on the street took me back to the first time I saw a street summer performing on pots and pans in New Orleans. It's amazing the amount of sounds that can be gotten out of a plastic tub and some old saucepan lids. Iliya told me he picked them up from hostels while he has been touring Europe. I always take street performer signs with a pinch of salt but I believed him when he said he's saving for a real drum kit so he can go to university to study music. With his talent it shouldn't take him long.
Thanks to Daniel and his videographer for the video from our September shoot showing me missing all the cool stuff while setting up equipment and lying on the floor a lot. :-D
It's not often you get to take photos with a talented performance artist and an assistant.
Daniel Blasco Marcos is a talented diabolo performer and stage artist with a lot of skill for juggling. Even though the weather wasn't great we worked to get some shots that might show case his talents.
Behind the scenes. It may look like I'm just lazing around on the floor but diabolo photography is hard work!!
This has to be one of the first times I wished I could do video as still photography doesn't quite capture the art and finesse of Daniel's tricks.

Technically we are strangers but we met and chatted together over a year ago. I took a photo on my film camera and said I would hand him a copy next time we met. However, I didn't bump into him again until now and have no idea where the photo went. I was carrying my Canon so managed to get a second digital photo. He plays guitar around Frankfurt and is one of the nicest people with a very relaxed tropical island kind of accent when he isn't singing some acoustic classic rock music on the street. A lot has happened for each of us since the last time we chatted and I was grateful to have met him again. So if you see him, say hello and make a request!
Chinese cultural presentation
This lady had really cool skills in a diabolo style instrument. She held two poles with a cord between that had a spinning top on it that made a dining noise. She span it round while spinning herself on the spot in a dance as attached to the top was also a yellow dragon that looked 3 or 4 metres long that flew around her in circles!
